HARMIT BAHRA

9

Right Hand Bat / Slow Right Arm Over

Errol Brown look-alike Harmit joined the club from Bedfordshire side Kempston Hammer midway through the 2003 season. His bowling style is entirely unique and extremely successful, culminating in him topping the bowling averages in the 2006 league handbook. With a meticulous control of line and length and deep rooted desire to get wickets, many players have lived to regret not giving his well controlled dibbly- dobblers enough respect.

A lover of the game, Harmit plays for Biggleswade on a Sunday and up to 3 times in midweek, all squeezed around his job in the Police. His batting is highly rated...... by himself, but in truth he has been been responsible for a number of match winning cameos and could easily take a role higher in the order were it not for an abundance of talent in that area at the moment. A feisty character and die-hard competitor, Harmit is no stranger to the League disciplinary committee but is an excellent team man, great guy and raconteur of some of the longest tales ever told.

It is as Captain of the 2007 Wollaston 1st XI that Harmit stamped his place in the history of the club. Taking the nucleus of the side built by Andy Luck, the side matched it's second place finish in 2005 the next year, losing out on the last day of the season. In his own inimitable style he picked the side up and there was better news from the the final game of 2007 as Geddington were beaten and the team crowned champions amid jubilant celebrations. He will again lead the side in the 2008 season.    M.J
